Peddars Lane / Albert Pye
Peddars Lane Council school opened in 1877 in an old silk factory that was enlarged in 1895. A new infants school was built behind the old building in 1903, with the original school building then being used for manual instruction and a cookery centre where school dinners were prepared. In 1968 a new primary school was built and the name was changed to The Albert Pye School.
